The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA)
The OIA is the trade body for UK businesses that provide products and services for outdoor enthusiasts.
Objectives
Delivery of an integrated communication strategy designed to turn the OIA into a dynamic and effective trade association.
Approach
The approach has included: creating a fresh brand identity for the OIA; the development of a logo and brand guidelines; a newsletter for members and a website. Press Ahead also commissioned research, which has been used to re-engage members of the OIA and generate PR coverage. Broadly, the approach includes a mixture of proactive communications, lobbying on behalf of the industry, outreach work and industry engagement.
Results
Alongside developing a proactive PR campaign for The OIA, Press Ahead has re-developed the OIA brand, revamped marketing literature, introduced a monthly e-zine, developed the OIA website and conducted research into industry trends and perceptions. To date, the campaign has well been well received and supported by trade press and member companies.
